BREAKING NEWS-K-ROD ON THE MOVE

This morning, Client #9 traded pitcher Joba Chamberlain and outfielder Jay Bruce to Jimmy's Daddy for closer Francisco Rodridguez. Client #9 is looking to solidify his bullpen battery, and K-Rod seems to fill that void. Washginton closer Joel Hanrahan was given his outright release this morning from #9 GM Baby Bisho.

"Look, Derek and I sat down with Joel last night after he imploded again. We told him some changes were in the works...we just couldn't go on like this any longer", said Baby Bisho when contacted about the trade.

After playing the struggling Rockpile to a 5-5 tie last week, The Daddy's looked to give his team a power injection while reinforcing his rotation. Hef's hubris clearly indicates that he was not shaken by last week's stalemate, and looks to shake things up in the clubhouse. "I figured what the hell...regardless of what I do, my team will still be better than the Baby Gorillas or Clark and Addison", quipped Hef.

"We really needed to shore up the back end of the bull-pen, and we were long on talent at both OF and SP", added Bisho, "Jay and Joba are both amazing talents...but to get talent, you have to move talent".

Client #9 had signed Joba Chamberlain and Jay Bruce to two-year deals, so The Daddy's saw an opportunity fill a need in both the near and long term. Francisco Rodriguez was inked to a one-year deal earlier this year by the Daddy's.

The eccentric Daddy's GM finished his press conference with some levity, "Plus, I am trying to unload hispanic/latin players as they have a higher probablility of carrying the swine flu".

The Daddy's would also like to thank #9 for being fair, reasonable trading partners. It was the first really fair offer I remember receiving in the last few years.

It was a pleasure doing business and I wish them the best of luck with their new acquisition.

I think that might be the first time anyone has ever claimed #9 is being fair and reasonable - must be Derek pulling the trigger...

Again, the best deals are the ones that work for both sides.

I actually like this trade as I think a guy like K-Rod, with what he can put together for a team in 2009, should net the haul of young 2-year talents like Bruce and Joba.

Although is it just me or do Saves seem to be down this year? The majority of the good closers are just sitting at around 5 Saves for the year and we're into Week 4 of Fantasy. I guess that lends itself to the majority of .500 type ballclubs in both leagues though.

I might add that it's promising to see such a trade go down. It gives me faith that more trades might occur in this league this year. Already April has seen 2 very well constructed trades.

Will there be another before the month of May????

Rocky Mike, I appreciate you finally rejecting my counter-offer..it took you long enough!

Word is Clark & Addison is willing to talk turkey with someone. Although, don't get your hopes up. The players he's offering will take those feelings of promise re: good deals to be had and poop all over them.

I had a half a cup of coffee at his negotiating table.

Some of what PG says is true. I am willing to talk turkey and we did negotiate for a very brief time. However, that seems to be where the truth ends and the fabrication begins.

I offered multiple players that would shore up some weak spots in his lineup, and he runs directly to the blog for cover.

Enjoy Chris Young's production, PG. I thought an ass-whippin' at the hands of Gerwig would wisen you up...I was wrong.

Here comes the boom!!!

You know, the numbers 6 and 3 have been racing through my head lately. I wonder why? I believe Red Sox nation senior citizen and washed up steroid user David Ortiz is 6 foot 3. Is that the reason? Can't be. Garret Atkins is 6-3, although the fact he couldn't hit water if he jumped off a boat may make him seem shorter. So that can't possibly be the reason. Nah, that's not it. Oh, wait.....I believe 6-3 was the score I beat Clark & Addison by two weeks ago. Yeah, that's it!! Typically you never hear from vanquished opponents. I wonder if Jimmy's Daddy ever heard anything (as they handily beat Clark & Addison as well).

Ironically, during the week QBF was defeated at the hands of yours truly, Chris Young had better numbers than David Ortiz AND Garret Atkins.

On February 28, 2009, the United States lost one of its great syndicated commentators. Paul Harvey was best known for his phrase, "And now, the rest of the story." In his honor, I go on...

I am troubled that PG relayed to the group only two of the three players we discussed. While I agree that Ortiz and Atkins have stumbled out of the gate, Torii Hunter has not. I thought his addition to the discussion would be positive, but this fact was conveniently overlooked.

I suppose when you play fantasy sports for so many years, you'll see all kinds of things. However, I was truly shocked to see the Baby Gorilla front office come to the defense of a guy hitting .217 with 2HR and 6RBI. Upon hearing that poor play is not being reprimanded, JJ Hardy and his .176, 5R, 3HR and 7RBI's just bought a new house in Gorilla-Ville.

The math lesson was cute with all the "6" and "3" stuff, but the fact is after all the "vanquishing", I am tied with PG and ahed of Jimmy's Daddy.

I will see you July 13-17, PG.

Well, much like Wes Mantooth, QBF talks trash while being #2 to the Baby Gorillas (cue Brian Fantana hold up two fingers).

You know what, QBF, I will see you in July. And I will smash your face into a car windshield then take your mother, Dorothy Mantooth, out for a nice seafood dinner and never call her again!!!

I'm just truly shocked that there is some one-upmanship going on and 3K is no part of it. This is weird....I must be getting soft...

Hey Ger, go suck an egg!!!

I would just like to add...the silence is deafening.

BTW - when I decided to take on the task of keeping the Contract Database up-to-date I had no clue I would have to deal with Client #9's shizoprenic GM ways!!!!
