Issue

Hackman brought up a good point in an e-mail. When I attached the rules for assigning credits players, he pointed out that last year we could assign contract years to players as we saw fit.

However, the constitution doesn't specify if it was for the first year only. Quite the conundrum.

So I thought I would leave it up to the league and see what you guys thought.

Personally, I like the contract limit as specified in the constitution. I like the challenge of giving the right person the 3 year contract (or the risk of giving the wrong person the 3 year contract). Also, it moves players into the free agent pool a little quicker, which makes our drafts a little more exciting year to year.

Thoughts?

The Countdown Begins

Ok guys, we're rapidly approaching draft day. PLEASE take a look at your rosters on the website and cross reference them with the spreadsheet to make sure everything is in order.

I was able to add the keepers to teams I inadvertently missed, so everyone should be square on that front.

Reminder that the draft is this Sunday, March 31st at 7:30PM CENTRAL TIME (a little more than 4 days away).

Good luck to everyone, I'll see you in the draft room.

Draft Day

So I'm assuming everyone is cool with the draft date and time (save Ed)? The only other issue that has been reported was I erroneously removed Justin Upton from Client #9's team instead of brother B.J. Upton. I am currently trying to figure out how to get Justin back on the team in place of B.J. It shouldn't be a problem.

Otherwise, let me know if there are any issues.

Check this out. Here is a look at the 2010 average draft positions for the top 12 players.

1. Albert Pujols
2. Hanley Ramirez
3. Alex Rodriguez
4. Ryan Braun
5. Chase Utley
6. Matt Kemp
7. Prince Fielder
8. Carl Crawford
9. Miguel Cabrera
10. Tim Lincecum
11. Mark Teixeira
12. David Wright

And here are the 2010 actual results in terms of fantasy value-

1. Carlos Gonzalez
2. Carl Crawford
3. Albert Pujols
4. Joey Votto
5. Miguel Cabrera
6. Josh Hamilton
7. Roy Hallady
8. Adam Wainwright
9. Jose Bautista
10. Felix Hernandez
11. Robinson Cano

12. Hanley Ramirez

Who's going to be this years Joey Votto? Or Robinson Cano? Does this change your approach to drafting? Will you go with the safe pick that is highly rated or will you do your homework and find the next Carlos Gonzalez?
