PLAYOFF UPDATE 2nd Round

Ok, guys, the playoffs are in full swing and dare I say...exciting? Saw the comments from the last post, btw, never realized that everyone liked the blog so much. By the looks of the number of comments people regularly make, I thought it was a ghost town (well, when you take away the whining, bitching, and complaining). BOOM!!!!!!!!

If the matchups don't excite you, perhaps this will. A refresher on how much money you could be taking home-

1st Place 40.00% $480.00
2nd Place 30.00% $360.00
3rd Place 20.00% $240.00
4th Place 5.00% $60.00
5th Place 5.00% $60.00

So far, Tallcorn Cobras, Client #9, The Rockpile, and Jimmy's Daddy are assured some sort of payout. But the bump between 4th and 3rd place is rather large.

Amazing that the lower seed teams in every contest prevailed, setting the stage for a dramatic round two. Could Client #9 truly show his fantasy mettle by ousting the juggernaut that is Tallcorn Cobras? Will the Rockpile stave off a typical weekend comeback from Jimmy's Daddy? Will Clark & Addison put the final nail in Mr. Hackman's coffin, rendering Hoosier Heat a paper tiger who cannot come through when it counts. Not to mention this contest is worth $60 (as the 5th place team sees that payout). As Derek Jeter always says, "it's not the best team that prevails in the postseason, it's the hottest team".

Down in the bottom bracket, we have Fenway Ed fighting for relavence as he takes on 7 seed Lawndale Longhorns. In an amazing upset, Yankee Mike earns the right to tussle with 3K, which I'm guessing will turn into a carnival of trash talk. In the toilet bowl, The Ger takes on yours truly, PG.

Keep in mind, every point counts in this 6 season league. Good luck gentleman!!

Don't get ahead of yourself Yankee Mike, you still have to go through me.

So that I'm clear the $100 entry is payable at the end of each season. What is payable at the end of the 6-year term?

I think all the player movement fees..

well exciting times in pg land ... I'm pretty excited to have to grind this week out against 9. I for one love the blog and can say it's almost as reliable as a response from pg when I send a text ...

Let's have some fun the next two weeks and hope for a TCC crown in year 1. Been a fun year.

All right some life!

I would love to know over/under of a response from PG from a call, an email, or a text.. (lets put it in days)

A call, I would say 60 days

A text, a more likely response, 1 day

An email, 7 days...

Or we could use the new technology, a tweet. 2 days...

Chole, I will go through you....hahahaha

And a nice little morning dig from Yankee Mike!

I had the pleasure of staying with Mr. & Mrs. PG recently and I can verify that his phone is functional, but I was told his calling plan allows for roughly 19 minutes per month.

I can't say much PG, I would rather watch Kyle Orton play QB than have a conversation outside of 5 minutes.

Text messaging was invented for a reason, guys.

The odd phenomenon that has ocurred over the last 5 years is that everyone has told PG how terrible his phone etiquette has become, yet he embraced it and has taken it a step further.

I can't say that he has invented it, but he certainly has mastered the sending of a text, upon which a recipient responds with a phone call and gets his voice mail.

All I can say PG is you better hope Baby PG doesn't inherit your phone skills when she starts dating and attending high school parties and you're at home texting her.

I think I just had a heart attack.

I can assure you that Baby Ruth will have baby PG's number when they are in high school...

I seem to recall that last year the lower seeds won more than the higher seeds.

As for the lower bracket, there is a lot of pride in being crowned "King of the Sucks" so I am gunning out of ego alone.

Figures PG (and for that matter JGer) have not replied to my email from yesterday. It's bad enough I am dealing with being behind two time zones...
