Rules Open Thread

Everyone should have a final copy of PG Sportsworld's 2009 Fantasy Baseball rules in your inbox. If you have any questions/comments, here's the place to address them. If I left anything out, please let me know. Thanks again for everyone's cooperation and input. Let's have a good draft guys!!

CORRECTION-Under the roster size, the file says 3 bench players. Please replace that with 8. So 17 active players, 8 bench players (for a total of 25 roster spots). The idea is for everyone to have 5 reserves and 3 minor league guys.

Everything looks good to me..I can't wait for Saturday! I think everybody should share/post contact information including phone # either on our CBS fantasy web page (click on options then personal)or on here...I'm sure most of us are text guys like myself...Also those of us with blackberry's can use that nice little Blackberry Messenger feature for trade talk etc...

May I also be the first to suggest that this league holds annual Winter Meetings.

I suggest we mirror the GM meetings and book rooms at the same hotel. I just think it would be classic if TallCorn Cobras was speaking to Hoosier Heat in the lobby, suggesting a trade of Teixeira for Miguel Cabrera and John Heyman got wind of it and ran with it!!!

Winter meetings would be fun. I can see myself in the lobby with my jugs gun already.

December 7th - 10th is when the Winter Meetings take place.

Location: Indianapolis!!!!

I suggest we schedule that week to hold our Annual Meeting. Because it is a midweek event for MLB I suggest a Sat. to Tues. offering for our meeting.

I'll do some digging to find what hotel they are booking, if they have done so yet as long as I am now referred to as the Assistant to the Traveling Secretary!

The fact that you're even considering the winter meetings is HYSTERICAL.

could we stay at the same hotel as linc's bach party up by the pyramids? do you think your go-cart certificate is still there, pg?

I love everything about this conversation/string.

Clark...never got the e-mail with the rules: nbisho@hotmail.com

We can get a VIP rate through Billy Bean and the Oakland A's baseball ops staff!!

For Ryan's bachelor party we stayed at the Sheridan at Keystone At the Crossing in Indy. Great location and fabulous lobby. It is also close to a couple good bars and Broad Ripple.

Nick, if you can get the A's operations staff to get us VIP status, go for it. Perhaps we could get an audience from Mr. Moneyball himself?

Jim said...

T-Dub, I may have to put a call in to the hotel and ask if anyone has seen my go-cart certificate.

I doubt your certificate is still there PG, but I'd imagine that burrito is still on the floor board of the van.

2 things:

1) I'm DEAD SERIOUS about Indy in December. I even told my wife last night, that she can expect me to be gone at the beginning of December because I have to attend the Winter Meetings for PG Sportsworld.

2) Is it totally dorky that I have now entered team owners names and numbers into my IPhone - yet I have them listed with their team names?

Dumb question.

How is tomorrow's draft handled? Is it on the CBS Sportsline system or via email?

Just want to make sure I'm in the right spot/webpage at 1:00.

Be gentle - I'm a newbie!

Mr. Hackman said...

I did the same thing with my phone...team name and all! Funny you mention that.

Sulceski said...

It's on CBS Sportsline, an online draft.

No worries Shane, it's not as bad as Fenway Ed missing last years draft because he was on the West Coast...and I guess not aware of different time zones in this country.

I noticed on our CBS fantasy page that we are set up for a 21 round draft. Will that be changed to 25 or are we drafting 21 players and then picking the last four off of waivers? just curious...

Jim said...

I just saw that, Mr. Hackman. I made the necessary adjustments. We are all set for 25 rounds.
